Getting back to normal...

Last night was our first night with mom, dad, Augie, and the dogs all sleeping in one room. We tried it the first night Augie was home, but the first time he "complained" with a noise, Shadow got a bit energetic. :-)

Other than Augie liking middle-of-the-night attention, it went pretty well (the dogs have grown use to him). Mom and Augie are still sleeping...which means she and he are heading toward 5 hours of uninterrupted sleep (I got to comfort him from about 3AM to 4AM)...

Augie comes home!

20070818augiegoinghome.jpgAlthough some late-in-the-day jaundice almost prevented Augie from coming home today, he is now safely in his bassinet at home here in Antrim. His grandmom is visiting, so the dogs haven't had too much time to sniff him yet, but their initial reaction does not appear to include a perception of him being a chew-toy :-)

This picture is of mom and Augie in mom's car outside the hospital--preparing to have daddy chauffeur them home.

Well, grandma has cooked up some tacos for the family, so time to head into the kitchen...

Being born is tiring...

Augie yawningAt the same time that dad is about to have time free up by finishing college, a little bundle of joy has arrived to make sure he doesn't get bored. Augustine joined the Fahrner clan yesterday at 8AM (8/15). There are no words that can fully express the blessing from God a child is...

Too cold for the dogs...

We went to take the dogs for a quick walk yesterday...but they didn't make it much past the end of our lawn. Both dogs started lifting their feat funny, and neither complained when we went back inside...

:-)

It was 3 degrees this morning when I checked. I'm debating turning on the propane stove right now as it feels a bit cool here in my office...
