The smell of freshly cut grass...

I was a bit tardy in doing the first mow of the year (and actually still have to do our less-than-flat back yard). However, late yesterday ambition hit me (actually, more of a realization that today's travel to visit friends means I'm running out of time before my trip to Costa Mesa), and I fired up the lawn mower (which took a few extra pulls, but started pretty quickly).

Although I couldn't help but decapitate many of our little white flowers (please see previous blog), I commuted the sentence for the orange group here. Not necessarily the most manly thing, I know...but I really like wild flowers.

As for what it is...I need to locate my flower naming book. Of course, I'm going to be totally depressed if someone tells me what it is and I find it isn't native to New Hampshire :-)
