Chasing a Bear

It is pouring rain here. Rain and dogs don't mix.

I took Bear (our schipperke) out to "take care of business." The cold rain clearly doesn't get through his thick coat as effectively as it does my thin cranium covering...so he was in no rush to get back inside.

Next it was Shadow's turn (he is a black German shepherd). Shadow is clearly smarter than Bear, and didn't want to go get soaked. So, I pull him out, look up, and notice that Bear is at the corner of the lawn. The coniving beast snuck out.

After some corner-of-the lot investigation (and nipping at Shadow), Bear decided to head up a small hill to the front of the house. So, I put Shadow in, bring Mikey's bike in, put the lawnmower under the deck, and head to the front.

Bear clearly understands my intent to capture him, and makes a run for it up the road (and up a not-so-small hill).

If it weren't for a great smell on someone's lawn I would never have been able to apprehend him.

What a little sprinting monster :-)
